2022.10.27 A multi-{FPGA} scalable framework for deep reinforcement learning through neuroevolution
Springer Nature Switzerland
Deep Neural Networks (DNN) excel in reinforcement learning but are unsuitable for FPGAs due to high resource demands. This study shows Evolutionary Algorithms (EA) can train DNNs on FPGAs, leveraging EA's parallelism to speed up learning. The framework quickly learned to play Pong in under 25 generations

ACOGES: Asistencia personal COGnitiva para Entornos Sociales
ACOGES is a project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation that aims to develop a robotic system for the care of the elderly and people with disabilities. The system will be able to interact with the user through natural language and a fuzzy logic-based emotional model. The system will also be able to perform tasks such as monitoring the user's health, reminding the user to take medication, and providing entertainment.

RoboCity2030
RoboCity2030 is the largest long-lasting consortium in Europe. It has been running since 2006. It is a consortium formed by six leading Madrid-based R&D centers in the area: Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, Universidad de Alcalá, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, and Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia. It promotes research and technology in numerous person-centered applications in metropolitan areas and also in the field. The RoboCity2030-III-CM program (Robotics applied to improving the quality of life of citizens. phase III; S2013/MIT-2748) is funded by the R&D Activities Programs in the Community of Madrid and co-financed by the Structural Funds of the European Union.
